Snippet replaces Chrome's default New Tab with an elegantly designed page with a picture overlayed with educational snippets.
These snippets include the following:
- Vocabulary
- Brainteaser
- History fact
- Science fact
- Fun fact from the Today I Learned section of Reddit
- Top news from the New York Times
Snippet uses APIs to fetch the data rendered in each snippet. For our "Misc" section in the fact snippet, we extract the top Reddit TIL post of the day. Our background images are from the Unsplash Image API, and our news is acquired from the New York Times developer API.
Our brainteasers and vocabulary words were cultivated by our developers to be engaging and educational. The same is true of our history and science facts
Each user's Snippet page is customized with the "Todo"'s they store, and the name they input for daily greetings.
